  • the three golden rules

    1.No Pulling!

    2.No Oily or Wet Roots!

    3.No Over-Directing the connections/bonds.

  • things you will need

Sulphate Free Shampoo. Use a clarifying shampoo for oily hair, and volume shampoo for regular to dry hair. Do not use supermarket quality shampoo.

Sulphate Free Conditioner. Use a lightweight, good quality conditioner on the ends of the hair only.

Hair Oil. Use on the ends of the hair extensions to protect them from heat styling.

Hairbrush. Use a tangle teaser as much as possible as your main brush.

Hairdryer. Drying your hair correctly is key, you will need a good quality, effective hairdryer. The best choice is Dyson.

  • washing your hair

Use salon-quality clarifying for oily hair.

Use salon quality volumizing shampoo for regular/dry hair. DO NOT use supermarket shampoo or any moisturising shampoo.

Wash your hair in the shower, never in the bath or upside down

You can massage/lather shampoo where there are no connections/bonds.

Now, clean the connections using fingers in a downward motion. Only downwards

Do not rub over the connections in a circular motion

    Feel free to shampoo twice!

Rinse twice as long, as usual, to ensure all hair is free from shampoo.

Product build-up can happen if you don’t wash your hair thoroughly. This can lead to sticky roots and matting and is not reversible.

Only put a towel on your head like a veil, and not upside-down like a turban.

Towel dry hair by squeezing, not rubbing

Do not comb through wet hair. Instead, use your fingers whilst drying your hair.

Concentrate on drying the root area until completely dry.

You can use a brush once your hair is 95% dry.

Do not pull on your extensions while drying.

Your halo section at the top where there are no extensions should be blow-dried well until completely smooth so that it sits into the hair extensions

Note: If you would like to leave your hair to dry naturally, you can only do so if you first dry the roots thoroughly.

  • sleeping & gym

You must tie your hair into a low ponytail when you sleep or exercise.

  • up-do's

You must not tie your hair up into a high ponytail, top knot or high bun.

    Only low styles.

  • colouring

DO NOT dye the hair that is captured inside the connection/bond.

The halo section at the top of your hair with no bonds is available for colouring.

If you have a colour elsewhere, your hair extensions may no longer match. In this scenario, you may need to purchase new hair.

Do not allow a colourist to scrub your head or pull on your hair when blow-drying.

  • losing hair

It is normal to lose between 5-to 10 hair extensions throughout the three months of wear.

If you feel like you have lost enough that it is noticeable, please book a check-up appointment with us.

We can refit your lost extensions free of charge. Please keep the hair, as replacements are chargeable.

  • shedding

Shedding is a normal part of the micro-bonding method.

You can expect to lose 10-20% of the volume over three months.

However, if your bonds feel sticky to touch and if you are concerned about excessive shedding please book a check-up appointment.

  • hair cuts

We will cut your hair extensions at your appointment (we call this blending.)

We advise 1-2 weeks to adjust to your new longer style. Within that timeframe, if you decide to have more cut off please let us know.

Please do not have your hair extensions cut by another salon, this could result in a bad cut and loss of length at your refit.

  • the agreement

You MUST NOT wear your hair extensions for more than three months

After this time, your hair extensions have grown out by 1.5 inches or more.

Leaving them in for longer than this recommended period can lead to short term and long term issues.

Leo Bancroft Ltd does not hold responsibility for any issues arising from leaving your hair extensions in for longer than three months.
